You see it not enough for politicians to be involved with the public through websites and new social media. Young citizens give an excellent example on how they have embarked on an online campaign (www.sendmyfriend.org) trying to bring together hundreds of thousands of students and teachers in the UK who want the government to keep its promise and make sure that every child can go to school, no matter where they live in the world. In doing so, in January of this year, they managed to get the UK Prime Minister, the leader of the Conservative Party and the leader of the Liberal Democrats to answer to the same questions concerning the Millennium Development Goal on Education.
What is more I have also noticed that recently on the G20 Summit in london "Send My Friend to School 2009" was present with the 14 year old James Simmonds who was chosen to be one of the official G20 Voice Bloggers.

Young people are utilizing online avenues to reach mainstream politics. They are making a difference in becoming young campaigners and are involved into politics by their own initiative.
